Starting a business is by no means easy and can take a phenomenal amount of [...]

Starting a business is by no means easy and can take a phenomenal amount of effort and determination to get the business moving off the ground and materialising into the thriving enterprise you’ve always dreamed of. One of the biggest reasons businesses fail and entrepreneurs are not successful, is because people don’t take enough action and follow it through until they see the results they desire. This may be because they don’t truly believe in themselves, and the fear of failing hinders their enthusiasm to make it happen and make a success of their ideas.

Knowing how to build a business and having all the tools can only equip you for the battle. Having the energy, determination to win and the fearless, ruthless, merciless mental attitude you need to over come all that stands in your way, can be developed through personal development.

Not taking action because of a fear of failing, is a problem that affects most people in some way at some point in their lives. What is it that some people do that gets them the success they desire? An excellent example of the cycle of success was explained to me when watching an interview with Tony Robbins, Frank Kern and John Reese. Tony explained that having the correct mind set will create the necessary momentum needed to take you through from start to finish.

He explains this with 4 steps…

Step 1: Believe in your own potential and know it’s possible

Other people have proven that there is a market and that the product or service can be sold, so you know you can do it too.

Step 2: Take the action

Step 2 is directly determined by step 1. If you don’t have much enthusiasm and belief, you won’t take much action.

Step 3: Getting the results

The results you get will be determined by action you have taken in step 2, and the action you take is of course determined by your belief when taking step 1. If you don’t see results in the first few weeks or even months, don’t think that it’s not going to work. You only become a failure if you quit.

Step 4: Reviewing your results

This is possibly one of the most important steps in the cycle. By reflecting on your results, and realigning your strategy, you can make educated decisions about what to do next in your business. If you have achieved your goals, your belief will grow! If you did not, you might say “I knew this wouldn’t work” etc, and the cycle continues on a downwards spiral to failure.

In order to tap into your full potential, and start creating a positive cycle towards achieving your goals, you have to believe in yourself fully.

Ok so how can we prepare our mind set in order to be ready for battle?

In Tony’s explanation of the momentum cycle, the first step is your initial belief. Prior steps can be taken to achieve the necessary confidence to start your momentum. The philosophies of mental preparation where explained to me when reading Think and Grow Rich, written by Napoleon Hill.

“Know what you want and you will generally get it.” (Napoleon Hill – Think and Grow Rich).

Step 1: Know what you want

If you know what you want you can back it up with a strong desire to obtain it. Setting your goals will materialise your thoughts and allow you to apply the burning desire necessary to follow them through.

“Persistence, the sustained effort necessary to induce faith” (Napoleon Hill – Think and Grow Rich).

Step 2: Building your persistence

Persistence is an essential procedure when transmuting desire into its monetary equivalent. Persistence is generated from the power of your will. Your will can be generated by goal stetting in step 1.

If you find you lack persistence, re-evaluate your goals and start the process again with a stronger desire to achieve what you want. If you can maintain your persistence you will undoubtedly be rewarded. You’ll be rewarded with whatever goal you were pursuing, but also the knowledge that your failures can be transmuted into their equivalent successes; and that trial and error is the best way to see where you’re going wrong.

So just remember that fear is your biggest enemy and it will try to trip you up whenever possible. Fear can be over come through repetitive acts of courage; therefore it is essential to get into the habit of taking risks.

Finally, knowing is key. Make sure your plans are sound and know they can work in reality; this in turn will encourage persistence.

Step 3: Ignore negative influences

Remember you have the right to live your life in your own way, and you should never fall victim to the criticism and negative influences of others. The fear of failing can be nurtured by the fear of criticism from influences around you. At this stage in your preparations, it is useful to understand these 4 simple steps explained to me when reading Think and Grow Rich. These steps are crucial when creating and maintaining the habit of persistence.

1) A definite purpose backed by a burning desire for its fulfilment.

2) A definite plan expressed in continuous action.

3) A mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences.

4) A friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage you to follow through with both plan and purpose.

These 4 steps are essential for success in all walks of life, so use them as a matter of habit.

When you know what you want you can develop persistence, and by being definite in purpose and having a definite plan, by blocking out negative thoughts and influences, and developing those relationships that breed success, you will be able to develop the right mind set and mental attitude required to obtain the required faith, enthusiasm and the persistence required to begin your successful momentum cycle, and slay your way to the top.

Having gone to San Diego this summer, and seeing some of the world’s most influential [...]

Having gone to San Diego this summer, and seeing some of the world’s most influential people talking on stage; people like Brendon Burchard, Bill Glazer & Jordan Belfort “The Wolf of Wall Street” not to mention Frank Kern & Trey Smith, I was inspired by a recurring theme in all of their presentations to write this post for MetalBros.org.

The question; why is your business (online or offline) not making the money it’s capable of making, and why are you struggling, when there are people out there who do want your product, service or opportunity?

These were the top three reasons from the Gurus themselves.

Reason 1 – You’re overwhelmed

There is so much info out there, there is so much opportunity out there, there are so many different things that we need to be competent at, that so many people get confused or overwhelmed and actually do nothing.

They wait around for the perfect plan, the perfect product, the perfect partnership or joint venture, the perfect opportunity, the perfect time to launch or whatever it may be. It causes them to fall into this state of overwhelm.

If you’re the best entrepreneur in the world, and you’re in a state of overwhelm, which is a state of mind, an emotional physiological state, then you’re not going to be able to do much entrepreneurship. If you’re the best parent in the world and you’re in a state of overwhelm, you’re not going to be a very good parent.

So this is the first reason why budding entrepreneurs aren’t generating the massive wealth and success that they desire.

Reason 2 – You don’t have a strong enough “why”

So many people simply don’t have a powerful enough “why”. We all know what self development is, and as entrepreneurs, personal development is a massive part of the success formula.

When I say that a lot of people don’t have a big enough why, what I mean is if you can’t take that stuff you learn from all of those self development programs, internalise it and make it real in your life, then you can’t have the success that you desire. Your why is like the wind in your sales and it drives you forward.

You may want to make loads of money, have loads of success, provide awesome, life changing content, but if you haven’t got a powerful enough “why” driving your business, then you’re not going to go very far.

It may not be for you, you may be trying to develop your own online or network marketing business for your family, for your children or loved ones; but one of the reasons why you may not be achieving it, is because you don’t have a powerful enough why.

Reason 3 – You can’t “close”

This is probably one of the most compelling reasons why your business isn’t having the success that you desire. You can’t sell your way out of a paper bag (Frank Kern’s words), meaning you’re not a closer.

Closing is the most crucial distinction in success, bar none. You can actually eliminate marketing out of your business and have sufficient success simply through closing; it’s just really hard because marketing “warms” your market up for the sale.

A lot of people say that the biggest cause that prevents people to take action is; they have a fear of failure. We agree to up to a certain point in that we think that most people don’t take action because they don’t truly believe that they will succeed.

Because humans are fear based creatures, and such powerful brains and emotions that control our lives and determine our success, friendships etc. We are good at “looking” into the future or playing it out in our heads and coming up with an answer that we then believe will be the outcome.

We may suspect that we are capable of achieving massive wealth and success, but until we have a powerful enough why providing the momentum, and the conviction to set our sales on a course that we feel will bring it to us, we’ll continue to paddle about in the harbor and never actually make it to the open sea.

This information was predominantly taken from my notes of Jordan Belfort’s presentation at Frank Kern’s list control.

I lost my job the other month. It wasn’t because I got made redundant, or [...]

I lost my job the other month. It wasn’t because I got made redundant, or because my business went bankrupt, it was because I decided to quit, bringing all bridges of retreat in the process.

Since then I have personally built two online businesses from scratch and I’m still going strong, this blog is one of my new “ventures” and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in.

My plan is to make a killer video series for anyone wishing to gain exposure on the internet. I’m going to explain all different aspects of internet marketing and how you can integrate them into your online business.

Steve and I are going to use that video series to develop some awesome relationships over the coming months with our readers and I’m really excited.

Obviously I’m no guru, and I’m not for one moment pretending to be, but I have a lot of knowledge and skills that I can use to help nearly anyone gain exposure for their business online.

I love it, in fact I don’t think I could ever imagine retiring. I’m just happy with life, living like a billionaire and I desperately want to show other people how to do the same.

So what is the biggest benefit of making a living online?

The biggest tangible benefit that springs to mind is something that any entrepreneur, online or offline knows about. The fact that you are in control of your own time.

When you’re marketing online, you’re able to reach a bigger audience. Not only can you reach more people, you can also target the people who will buy your products.

You have the ability to test everything you do and see which channels of marketing are bringing you in the results. You can then concentrate on developing and strengthening those aspects of your marketing campaign in preparation to upscale it.

Everything that you do online is scalable so you have the capability of expanding your business more than you ever could have simply by networking your products or services.

What is the downside of making money online?

Learning the hard way. There are a lot of people out here who are hungry for your money and don’t mess around when they see that you’re willing to part with it. That isn’t to say that there isn’t good content out there, I’m just saying that some people are more dedicated to counting their money, than actually helping the people that gave it to them.

Learning all this stuff is time consuming and learning how to fit it all into a successful, sustainable business model is even harder.

Coping with doubts and negative thoughts is also a vital aspect to the success of any business venture, that and the belief that you’re more than capable to have success in whatever it is that you’re doing.

What can you do to ensure you succeed?

Don’t buy into any form of program or course until you are satisfied that you can’t find the information elsewhere.

In my experience, the second you get access to whatever course it is, and the hype from the sales page has worn off, you usually don’t follow through with the enthusiasm that you had at the start, and whatever it is that you bought, normally just sits there collecting dust on your hard drive.

Don’t try to start an online business from scratch without laying down your foundations. It’s all about paying it for later and becoming a part of the community that you wish to be a part of.

Become the teacher! The best way of learning stuff is by teaching it to others. The teacher is always the best student because they have to know their subject inside out. That was partly the reason why we decided to make this blog. We too want to develop ourselves as individuals, and entrepreneurs.

The true secret to making money using the internet is to never give up; I suppose that’s the secret to any kind of networking type business. You’re only a failure if you stop!

What to expect from us…

Well I personally am a very spontaneous person. If you know anything about personality colours, I’m red and Steve is green.

The reason this is such a good relationship to have when creating this online business is quite simple. We will provide you with excellent, well researched content, and we’ll also show you exactly how to get the job done.

I look forward to connecting with everyone who reads this blog. I am genuinely excited at the thought of finally getting to help people gain more exposure on the internet. If you want to connect with me personally, catch me on Twitter or Facebook.
